How can you get involved?

The Lake Cowal Foundation is about helping the community help themselves in matters relating to environmental management and education. You can become actively involved in projects, participate in field day events or make cash or resources donations to our not-for-profit organisation.

  1. Donations
    • Monetary
      * The LCF is guaranteed funding from Barrick Australia Ltd for the life of the Cowal Gold Project and presently has strong support from other environmental groups, agencies and Government departments. Several applications for external funding have been successful and more funding is being sought as new projects are developed.

      As a condition of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Barrick Australia Limited will match donated contributions dollar for dollar up to $100 000 per year for the life of the mining operation.

    • Labour (eg planting, weeding, maintenance)
    • Equipment and resources (e.g. plants, building or garden materials, historical equipment or information)
  2. Request assistance with funding applications and project funding
  3. Enrol in Property Planning courses
  4. Request special topic field days (we can arrange on request if numbers permit)
  5. Attend field days
  6. Request for technical advice
    • Revegetation
    • Species identification, send in your specimens for ID
    • Vegetation management
    • Soil health
